Hi! I’m Keira and today I’ll be showing you how to decarb cannabis.
Why should I decarb my cannabis?
Decarbing is an essential step to maximize the potential of your cannabis flower, especially when working with edibles. Decarbed cannabis allows your infused butters, oils, and other essential cooking ingredients to achieve higher levels of potency and effectiveness. Decarbing ensures that your edibles give you the desired medicated experience.
Basically, if you want your edibles to work, then you need to decarb your weed.
How does decarbing work?
Decarboxylation (decarbing) is the process in which we release the psychoactive properties of cannabis. Raw cannabis contains THCa, a cannabinoid and non-psychoactive compound. With the application of heat, THCa breaks down to THC, the psychoactive cannabinoid that makes you feel high.
Can you tell me how to decarb already?
You got it!
Preheat your oven to 240F. Evenly spread the cannabis nugs on a baking sheet. You want the air to be able to flow in between the nugs.
Bake for 45 minutes. Rotate the nugs every 15 minutes to ensure an even toast.
Remove after 45 minutes and let cool. Use a grinder to break down the nugs.
Now your cannabis is decarbed and ready to be infused. Decarbed cannabis is a staple ingredient for all of our recipes here on Marijuana.com.
