Miss Universe Australia Thinks Weed Should Be Legal

There was a lot of controversy in last night’s Miss Universe pageant.  By that, we are referring to Steve Harvey announcing the wrong winner.  While it was horribly entertaining, it seems to be overshadowing a really great moment for the marijuana legalization movement.  Monika Radulovic, Miss Universe Australia, publicly became a proponent of legal medical marijuana, saying it’s “really amazing in treating cancer.”

Radulovic was asked, “Australia is taking it’s first steps towards legalizing marijuana.  Do you think that’s a good idea, and why?”  She replied, “‘Now this topic has both positives and negatives and it’s quite debated. I believe that in certain circumstances, legalizing marijuana does have definite benefits.”  The crowd seemed to agree with her, as you can hear them begin to cheer as she says she believes it should be legalized.  You can watch her full response below.

Although the 25 year old Sydney native, unfortunately, was eliminated in the next round, we couldn’t be happier.  Marijuana legalization has become nationally mainstream, and we are quite happy to have Miss Universe Australia on our side.  And, if she ever wants to model for Stoned Girls, we would be more than happy to have her!
