It’s almost 4/20! That’s right. The adult version of Christmas for our demographic is just a few short days away.

Making at least one hump day a little more irie this year, 4/20 falls squarely in the middle of the workweek, turning an average Wednesday into the potential beginning of a five-day celebration of all things cannabis. After all, with the next crop of states prepared to legalize recreational marijuana this November – think California, Nevada, Vermont and Arizona – we have a lot for which to be thankful.

Ready to party, we’ve cultivated a handy list of cannabis-centric items that are sure to help make any celebration a little more festive this 4/20. Creating sort of a high-functioning survival kit for the modern patient and stoner alike, the Weedmaps family is ready to honor the monumental progress our community has made towards the outright legalization of cannabis for all!

With that in mind, it’s time to fire up as a community and celebrate.

In the random order you’d expect from a website that observes 420, here are a few items we think could help elevate anyone’s celebration: freshly cleaned glassware, plenty of rolling papers, lots of lighters (because we all have that friend), a few cans of butane, a ton of munchies and assorted beverages. And don’t forget to keep the Uber app handy, just in case a guest gets a little too high to drive. How can you tell? Well, they’ll be the ones raiding your refrigerator while quoting Carl Sagan on the infinite vastness of the cosmos.

As is true with any righteously dysfunctional holiday gathering, conversations during the 420 season can get a little rough for some: decriminalization vs. legalization, rescheduling vs. descheduling, and states’ rights vs. federal rights. With the ultimate end goal of legalization clearly in sight, and everyone’s collective efforts paying off in the end, 4.20.2016 will truly be a day to celebrate with your 420 family. As for those misguided individuals that don’t understand the multitude of applications for the cannabis plant, and that don’t consume today’s connoisseur strains for fear of past propaganda, think of it as an opportunity to expand your horizons – a moment for higher learning.
